What I Love About TAEA: TAEA holds a special place in my heart because of our incredible membership! Reflecting on my journey, I can't help but feel immense gratitude for the substantial personal and professional growth I've experienced as an educator and leader, all thanks to TAEA. However, what truly makes this journey extraordinary is the invaluable tapestry of friendships woven over the years. These connections, born from a shared passion for art education, have become an irreplaceable part of my life. TAEA isn't just an organization; it's a family, a community that has profoundly shaped not only my career but also my heart.

Hello Region 19! My name is Claudia Cardenas and I am a born El Pasoan, who momentarily left for college. I am a proud graduate of Texas State, where I studied with Eloise Krabbenhoft and David Hefner. Those two people truly inspired me to become the artistic, overly-prepared teacher I am. I am always on the pursuit of knowledge, so I am a proud member of TAEA, NAEA, Deep Space Sparkle (which is gold for Elementary teachers), and Art of Ed. I won't lie — my heart is in Fine Arts, but I also have an extensive background in music and theater, which I try to connect some lessons with. Last of all, I became an art teacher to inspire students as I have with my little sister. If you have any questions feel free to contact me. Stay amazing guys!
