What I Love About TAEA: I love how TAEA provides opportunities for students and educators to come together and further their passion for creativity and the arts. I think fostering creativity is one of the most valuable things we can give to the next generation, and TAEA gives us so many opportunities to help us get there. If we don't all champion the arts and its transformative power, then no one else is going to. TAEA gives us a place to come together and stand up for the power of quality art education whether it be in bridging social divides, expressing ourselves, championing creativity, or fighting to keep art front and center in education as Texas charts its path to the future.

Hello, Region 10 and welcome! I am honored to serve as your Region 10 Representative. I teach Art 1 Honors, Art 2, Art 3, and AP Art for Dallas Independent School District. I have been a teacher for 8 years, and before that I was a professional product photographer, but I had reached a point in my life where I wanted to do something that mattered and changed lives. I love being an art teacher and I've loved every experience I've had with TAEA from the leadership institute to taking a student to state VASE and presenting a workshop. Being a regional representative will be a new learning experience for me, but I hope I can make great things happen for our region and stand up for the things we care about. Please contact me with any questions about TAEA and the awesome opportunities available to you. This may include VASE, Jr. VASE, Big Art Day, professional development opportunities, and more. If I don't know the answer, I will find someone who does!

As a teacher, former student, and son of Texas education, this position means a tremendous amount to me. The perspective I bring to the role is one which I hope will help us all bridge the differing perspectives and needs of our students, staff, educators, and community.
