What I Love About TAEA: My appreciation for the Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) is multifaceted. TAEA is a critical part of connecting educators locally, regionally and statewide. This unique organization has allowed me to grow as an individual and find comradery amongst those in the field of Visual Arts. From YAM to TEAM/Junior VASE/VASE, there is always something to do creatively in Texas communities.

My favorite facet of TAEA is District of Distinction (DOD). To me, it is a statement that says "Local students have worked hard and are seen throughout the community." For those who do not know what the title means, I take joy in explaining it to them! TAEA's DOD sets a standard for schools across our state to rise to.

Connection to those around us is a vital part of growth. TAEA cultivates, encourages and enriches opportunities for such growth. Above all, I believe that my visual arts program is significantly better because of the support I receive from TAEA.
