The State Directors of VASE with approval from the TAEA Executive Board have made the decision to move High School VASE to completely Virtual Events for 2022 due to the rapid spread of COVID in our communities.
As we began planning for VASE, we were hopeful to have the event in person, with the understanding we would have to keep an eye on the situation and make adjustments as needed. After several weeks of monitoring the situation and hearing from each Regional VASE Directors, the TAEA Executive Board and State VASE Directors felt it was in the best interest of our teachers, staff and students to move to a virtual platform for the HS Regional VASE event. This was not an easy decision, but a necessary one with the immediate situation we are in. Thank you to all those involved in the decision making process.
Like last year, VASE 2021, all entry materials will be uploaded. Both Qualifications and Adjudication will take place online. I know that we all are very disappointed not to have the valuable in-person connection and feedback from Jurors. Please know that the safety of everyone involved is our primary concern.
Junior VASE and the High School State VASE Event are both still planned to be in-person; TEAM remains virtual as planned. Should circumstances dictate changes, everyone affected will be notified as quickly as possible. Please direct your questions to your Regional Director or to the appropriate State Director of VASE for your program level. Know that we will continue to assist you as we navigate through this process.
Thank you for being a Community of Artists, and continue to be Art Strong! TAEA appreciates you.
