What I Love About TAEA: TAEA has provided a wealth of opportunities for students, teachers, and administrators in my district and region. Students have learned to take pride in their artistic vision and advocate for their creative voices. Teachers have gained access to invaluable resources and a strong, supportive community. Administrators have developed a deeper understanding and appreciation of the arts — knowledge they previously lacked. All of these benefits are possible because of TAEA. I truly love that the arts are being promoted, understood, and celebrated — thanks to the dedication and leadership of this incredible organization.

Attendance at the TAEA annual fall conference and the regional conference provide opportunities to make connections across our vast state. Friendships forged at those events can last for years, indeed, perhaps for a lifetime. One of my main goals as the Region VI Representative will be to offer cutting edge workshops at the annual summer Regional Conference and strive to create the type of nurturing and innovative environment that recharges and refreshes our membership. This is a crucial service, as we all know just how stressful and draining our profession can be over the long haul. Please feel free to contact me and provide input into how best I can provide services to the members of TAEA Region VI.
