Description:	Learn about incorporating contemporary craft into your classroom while constructing your own hands-on projects! Explore how HCCC creates experiences to advance education about the process, product and history of craft as well as opportunities for self-expression and problem-solving in K-12 classrooms. Discover how arts-integration fosters creativity, experimentation, and grit. Practice critical thinking skills while creating a variety of weaving projects. Learn how your classroom can encourage open-ended interpretation and help students to feel comfortable in the gray areas. Explore how to develop problem- solving skills by asking students to experiment with materials and rework ideas. Connect this type of thinking with other subjects, such as the Scientific Process and word problems in the math curriculum. Participants will discuss practical tips to incorporate art-integrated conversations and projects into the core curriculum and will be encouraged to share ideas based on their own experiences.
