The San Antonio TAEA conference was a great success! At the Elementary Divsion Meeting we were engaged in Reaching Our Students Minds by understanding Howard Gardners Multiple Intelligences and discovering ways to establish higher level thinking questions.
We are generating new ideas for the next conference by having movment and music in the artroom.
SOUND
1. the sensation produced by stimulation of the organs of hearing by vibrations transmitted through the air or other medium.
MOTION
1. Motion is change of location or position of an object with respect to time. Change in motion is the result of an applied force. Motion is typically described in terms of velocity also seen as speed, acceleration, displacement, and time.
Consider these definisions when you look at artwork. What kind of sounds do you hear in a painting? What is your movement when you approach a painting? Is the painting inviting or aggressive? Try moving around a still life as you draw it. Try creating your own sound for your painting.
